Ilonggo Lesson # 1

“Lugod”
(noun: Loo-good; verb: Loo’good)
Translation:  a noun referring to a piece of  stone used to rub on soles, elbows, and the whole body to remove dirt and dead skin.  It is usually hand picked from around the house, and kept in the bathroom.  It must be roundish and of a smooth , grainy texture to serve its purpose.
A rock is not a lugod; it is only a lugod if used for the purpose stated above.
It is a verb when used in this  context:  “Ti, nakapang lugod Ka na?”
“So, have you rubbed yourself with the lugod?”
