Fourth of July

 

There was an explosive thunderstorm on the afternoon of Independence Day…

so even if we wanted to have a barbecue, like the rest of the patriotic citizens of this great nation, we stayed indoors.

 Our  Pina Colada with a touch of vodka

for the fourth of July

 was an instant hit.

On the other hand,

my pancit palabok, was seriously short of sauce.

We didn’t catch much of the fireworks as none of us bothered to go outside the house to watch. On our way home at past 11 p.m. smog covered the sky and the streets, all around. I guess we missed the best of the display.

But like our folks used to say: the fireworks were in the stomach. (“Palupok sa tiyan!”)
